The weatherboard house was fully alight when fire crews were called at 5.30pm on Thursday.
Two crews from Clunes and one tanker from Talbot attended the blaze, which took almost 90 minutes to contain.
No one was home at the time of the fire.
A fire investigator inspected the scene on Friday.
