After starting his career performing at open mic nights, the 25-year-old folk singer-songwriter has finally found his sound with a new album set to be released soon.
"My new album has hints of previous albums that capture my sound and vibe, natural and raw, with personal stories on a singer-songwriter basis of guitar and vocals," he said.
"The lyrics on the new album will sound as though you've travelled through life, learning and yearning about the truths and deceptions that everyone goes through, which were inspired by experiences I've watched, long enough to feel motivated to write about.
"They're best listened to with a hot tea in hand and an open mind by the fireplace at your neighbours' house."
Taylor will play a collection of songs off his new album in addition to crowd favourites from previous albums at Babuska Bar on Friday from 7.30pm, with supporting acts Steve Thew and Rach Brennan.
It will be one of Taylor's last performances in Australia before he jets off to England to live.
"I've performed in Ballarat a few times, I've always enjoyed the place rain or shine," he said.
"But I was in England for a few weeks in April where I did a few shows in London and smaller villages outside of London.
"I love the venues I played and the locals were nice, so that's partly why I'm going back."
In the past two years, Taylor has supported acts such as Josh Pyke, Carus Thompson and Jordie Lane.
