Police have recovered a luxury car believed to be linked to a South Yarra home invasion in which a young woman was allegedly tied up with an iPhone cord.

A 49-year-old man has been taken into custody and a BMW seized following a police pursuit about 10.30am on Friday, a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.
"It is believed the car involved in the pursuit was allegedly stolen during an aggravated burglary on July 22," she said, adding the man in custody was assisting detectives.
Earlier this week, a black BMW was taken by a balaclava-clad man who had followed the young female occupant of a South Yarra home into her carport at night.
Armed with scissors and wearing a single glove, the man had initially demanded access to a safe and then taken off with the woman's BMW coupe and $10 in cash, police previously alleged.
The woman was left traumatised after being tied up with what police believed were an iPhone cable, a lamp cable and the cable from an electric blanket.
