Director Amanda Remfrey said this year’s musical was an alternative rendition of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, revolving around main character Chad who was based on the legendary Elvis Presley.
“The good thing about Elvis is that everyone can relate,” she said.
“There are so many toe-tapping songs, you’re bound to go away singing.”
Playing the role of Elvis is year 12 student Jess Bruce, who said the show was set to entertain audiences of all ages.
“It encompasses a huge range of music from an era of liberation,” she said.
“I really love the energy, and we’re excited for it to come together.
“It’s fun and has a new spin on music, the costumes and props are great, it really is an invigorating show.”
Ms Remfrey said the cast of 60 students and teachers had been rehearsing for six months, with students taking time over their lunch break and weekends to perfect their lines.
All Shook Up follows the story of a young girl who falls in love with Chad.
When she realises Chad is already in love with someone else, she dresses up as a boy to get close to him and the two fall in love.
“It’s a complicated story, but it’s funny and light hearted,” said Ms Remfrey.
