The lifelong friend of a man who died at the weekend has called for more support for homeless people in Ballarat.
Police have prepared a report for the coroner following the deaths of Jesse Scholes and Shannon Knowles on Friday night.
Jesse's friend of more than 20 years John Byrnes said his friends were heartbroken by his death.

Meanwhile across the state, police have executed 20 warrants to target the Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang following the Australia Day death of Michael Ali Sleiman in a pre-dawn raid.
The warrants were executed at 6am on Tuesday morning by Echo Task Force detectives together with Homicide Squad investigators, Crime Command, AFP, National Anti-Gangs Task Force, Australian Customs and Border Protection, specialist units and local police.
