Another chilly day ahead by the looks of it with a top of six degrees predicted for the city.
If you are already excited for the weekend, prepare for more cold conditions with frost like weather predicted for both Saturday and Sunday.
POLICE
A quiet night for police with nothing of interest to report.
Ballarat Police Local Area Commander Bruce Thomas said there had been more than a thousand thefts reported from vehicles in the past financial year, in addition to about 300 cars being stolen.
He said a sizable proportion of thefts were from cars left unlocked, particularly in home driveways.
FIRE
Fire crews had a couple of call-outs overnight with the first being just before 2am when firefighters were called to two bin fires around Lake Wendouree.
The fires were quickly extinguished.
Crews were also called to a false alarm at Federation University just before five this morning.
AMBULANCE
Nothing to report from local paramedics.
TRAINS
Good service so far for the Ballarat train line.
