MT BUNINYONG was packed on Friday as people pulled their children out of school, snuck away from work and cancelled lunch plans to chase the snow.

Kids made snow angels and snowballs, and made sure their parents knew how cold it was.

Buninyong man Serhan Demirceviren, brought his daughter up from school to play in the snow.

“I used to work on the snowfields, so I miss it,” he said.

“It’s been a long time, so it’s good for them to come up, play around.”

Marc Phillips said apart from being “bloody freezing”, his kids would enjoy seeing something different.

He showed them how a snow fight was done by throwing the first snowball.

Batman, aka four-year-old Joey Caris, was busy trying to warm his hands up after throwing his own (snow) batball at his sister.

Up the age scale, twenty-something Josh Corcoran from Mt Helen brought Jayne Banks up for her first taste of the snow.

The temperature sat around zero degrees at Mt Buninyong, although Weatherzone said the temperature around Ballarat would have felt like -5C degrees.
