The woman in her 20s remained trapped in her car after she hit ice and ran off the Western Freeway about 12pm.
Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen said the woman was taken to Ballarat Health Services Base Hospital with leg and chest injuries.
She is in a stable condition.
Meanwhile, a car rolled over a number of times after skidding on ice at Yankee Flat Road, Mount Helen, just before 5pm on Friday.
The man, 40, was transported to Ballarat Health Services Base Hospital after being treated and assessed by paramedics at the scene, Mr Mullen said.
The man suffered cuts and bruising, but no loss of consciousness, and was complaining of neck soreness, Mr Mullen said.
Ballarat Highway Patrol Sergeant Stuart Gale said drivers needed to remain vigilant during the dangerous weather conditions.
“Slow down, drive to the conditions, be patient, use headlights in adverse conditions and fog lights if you have them and just take care on icy roads,” Sergeant Gale said.
The State Emergency Service (SES) reported a quiet Friday following a busy Thursday in which they responded to 40 jobs in the Grampians region.
SES mid-west duty officer Kendra Clegg said despite the snow, winds eased on Friday, allowing volunteers to take a well-earned break.
“It has been a terrifically quiet day,” she said.
“In fact there are no jobs I can see on the system. Now that the winds have calmed down we haven’t had any call outs.”
