The Ballarat Jazz Club presents The Barry Currie Jazz Ensemble, which will see Ballarat’s ‘Mr Jazz’, Barry Currie, perform with his daughter and grandson.
“It’s going to be really special,” Mr Currie said.
Mr Currie’s daughter Sally Cassar, who has been performing since she was five years old, said it was her dad’s musical talents she had looked up to since she was a child.
“I do like singing and playing different styles of music, but it was dad who put me onto jazz,” she said.
“I have followed in his footsteps.
“So it will be very special to play with him and my son.”
As part of The Barry Currie Jazz Ensemble, Mr Currie will also be joined by Don Kerby on drums, Bob Pattie on the trumpet, Barry Edwards on bass and Graeme Vendy on the keyboard for a live performance of some of the biggest jazz songs of all time.
“It’s going to be a great occasion, with a whole range of different jazz music,” he said.
