Recreating the Eureka Flag – Stitching, Session 4
When: Saturday, 11am - 3pm.
Where: M.A.D.E, 102 Stawell Street South, Ballarat.
Details: Through this community project, M.A.D.E will replicate as closely as possible the original flag to see how long it takes. Working with local textile groups and guilds, the Eureka Flag will be recreated stitch by stitch to real scale, using the original sewing methods. This is a wonderful opportunity to imagine what the three women may have been thinking and feeling as they committed an act of revolution with a sewing needle. Soccer extravaganza

Details: Melbourne City FC continues its inaugural Westfield FFA Cup campaign in Ballarat with an opening round clash against Sydney FC. The teams will play the round of 32 match at Morshead Park – the newly-redeveloped facility which will host the Bahrain national team pre-competition camp during the 2015 AFC Asian Cup in January. Both sides will field near full-strength squads for the clash that shapes as an important pre-season hit-out for the start of the National A-League season. City has already confirmed international superstar Damian Duff will line-up in the re-branded club's first official match under the new title. Tickets cost adults $10, children $5, children under four admitted free. Tickets will be sold at the gate 90 minutes before kick-off. School bands extravaganza

Where: Mt Clear College, Olympic Avenue, Mt Clear
Details: Come, listen and be entertained by some of the best school bands in Ballarat. Hosted by the Lions Club of Sebastopol and district, this evening will showcase the talents of the four school bands, Ballarat Grammar, Ballarat High School, Mt Clear College and Phoenix P12.
