The Lockyer Valley Demons hope the community will rally around Tarryn Bowers this weekend.
The 19-year-old proudly walked out of hospital on Saturday following a stint in the cardiac ward and surgery to implant a defibrillator in his chest.
Tarryn suffered a serious injury during a match against the Goondiwindi Hawks at Pittsworth Oval in July.
He collapsed, suffered a cardiac arrest and was later airlifted to Princess Alexandra Hospital where he was placed into an induced coma.
But now back on home turf, Tarryn said he was unsure whether he would ever run on the field again.
"I'll just have to slowly get back into using my arm again, they don't want me to jump into any weights or anything because I can't risk moving (the defibrillator) and making it disconnect," he said.
