It is on schedule to be completed on time in March 2015 barring any more stretches of terrible weather.
Regular travellers along Gillies Street will have noticed the concrete base has been laid and the framework for the outer structure is currently coming together.
A report to be presented to the City of Ballarat on Wednesday says as well as time – although some in the community say it is 25 years late – the $17 million-pool is hitting targets of local business participation, with 24 local companies out of 34 in total taking part in the build.
The non-local businesses include specialist companies providing pool hydraulics, counterweight doors and pool tiling.
Nicholson constructions is overseeing the project, and has reported three ticks from the Victorian Workcover Authority from three visits.
The council was criticised for not including the new pool in a previous $4.5 million upgrade to the centre, which installed the plumbing, making the new pool possible without too much of an impact on operations.
