Fund-raising committee treasurer Margy Allen said the 1920s jazz-age idea would be great for people wanting to dress up a bit.
“It’s a great theme, we should see some great outfits,” she said.
The fundraising committee hopes to raise $20,000 on the night, to fund both the Soup Bus and several other support projects.
“It’s been a bitter, cold winter, and Ballarat’s homeless people need our support,” said Ms Allen.
Money will also go to the On Track foundation, which provides scholarships to young people.
“It gives them a chance to get a proper education, and covers school fees, uniforms, excursions, things like that,” said Ms Allen.
There will be an auction and raffle on the night, and guests are invited to watch Baz Luhrmann’s 2013 film for inspiration, although the pink suits are optional.
