POLICE
Ballarat police reported a quiet night, however, they are still appealing for information on an armed bandit after a robbery at a Sebastopol milkbar on Friday morning. The man entered the milkbar on Albert Street and was found by the owner behind the counter shortly after 7am. Police said the man stole more than 50 packets of cigarettes worth more than $2000. FIRE
Ballarat City Fire officers were called out to rescue a dog which was trapped in a drain last night. Officers were called to the corner of Havelock and Howitt Streets at 6.30pm to retrieve the Jack Russell. Once it had been released the dog lead officers back to its owner's house nearby. Officers also attended a call out at 5.30am at Reid's Guest House on Lydiard Street but it was a false alarm.
AMBULANCE AND SES
Ambulance and SES officers also reported a quiet night with nothing to report.

The Ballarat service is running well according the V/Line website. Passengers may be required to change platforms at Sunshine.

Ballarat Vietnam veterans will gather this morning to commemorate the war that divided the nation. About 50 Vietnam veterans and their families will march from the Ballarat Apartments on Lyons Street South – formerly the Ballarat RSL – to the South-East Asian war memorial on Sturt Street at 10.30am.
