Sovereigns begin player tryouts for the 2015 Victorian Netball League season on Sunday, September 14.
Three sessions will be held at the Wendouree Sports and Events Centre in consecutive weeks, with September 21 and 28 also scheduled.
The Sovereigns are advertising for head and assistant coaches for the championship division, division one and 19/under teams, as well as a development team coach. Appointments will be made for one year.
Applications close on Monday, with the Sovereigns selection panel to develop a short-list by the start of next month and a decision made by September 5.
The Wendouree Sports and Events Centre will be the Sovereigns’ training base.
Sovereigns replaced Ballarat Pride in the VNL after Pride’s licence was not renewed at the end of last season.
A consortium of Ballarat sporting and community groups, including Ballarat Netball Association, Wendouree Netball Association, Central Highlands Netball League, AFL Goldfields Netball (Ballarat FNL, Maryborough Castlemaine DNFL and Riddell DFNL), City Of Ballarat, North Ballarat Roosters, Ballarat Basketball Association, Federation University of Australia and Ballarat Pride, put together a successful bid for the available licence in the 10-team
competition.
