This has led to an increased service delivery, with both mobile and foot patrols in areas identified having crime issues and also anti-social behaviour "hot spots". It also provides another option for people to attend a nearby police station for inquiries and to make reports without the necessity to travel to the main police station in Dana Street.

Having been involved with other leaders across the Ballarat community, the vision to have not only a police station, but a fire and ambulance station in the city's major growth corridor, is both deliberate and forward thinking while the population continues to grow at Lucas and Ballarat West. Victoria Police recognises there will be a need for enhanced police service delivery in growth areas.
As reported in The Courier on August 19, the Police Association acknowledged the increase of more than 60 additional police in the Ballarat division since 2010, is commensurate with recommended ratios. This increase has enhanced community safety and enabled staffing to be allocated to Ballarat North and the future Ballarat West (Lucas) police stations.
We continue to monitor service demand and delivery, especially in these growth areas.
