Experts and victims have warned the scourge of ice addiction in regional areas is having a direct impact on the rise and severity of family violence.
Child and Family Services has recorded an increase in the number of cases where ice is involved.
CAFS Family Violence Intervention program co-ordinator Bob Maika said ice may not be the root cause of family violence incidents but it was increasingly reported and contributed to the severity of attacks.
POLICE
Police attended the scene of a tip fire in Creswick at 1am on Friday morning.
The fire is being treated as suspicious and the incident is being investigated.
FIRE
Five fire crews were called to the scene of a blaze at the Creswick transfer station.
Crews battled the fire for 20 minutes.
A crew from Ballarat City was en route before it was told it wasn't needed.
Two trucks from Creswick and one each from Newlyn and Kingson attended.
The fire is being treated as suspicious.
AMBULANCE
The south-west’s emergency helicopter made a dramatic forced landing last night while carrying a woman badly injured in a road smash at Garvoc.
The HEMS 4 air ambulance set down in a paddock west of Cressy about 8.35pm after experiencing a mechanical problem during its emergency dash to Melbourne.
