Where: St Patrick’s College, 1431 Sturt Street, Ballarat.
Details: Eighty-six outstanding works on show including the work of Marcus Wills, a former winner of Australia’s most acclaimed art award, the Archibald Prize in 2006. Also view the works of the winner of the 2014 Flanagan Art Prize, Federation University Emerging Artist Prize and the Best Affordable Artwork (under $500). Mushroom exhibition

Where: Backspace Gallery, Huyghue House, 15 Camp Street at Alfred Deakin Place and Police Lane.

Royal South Street Herald Sun Aria

Where: Her Majesty’s Theatre, 17 Lydiard Street South, Ballarat.
Details: The world renowned Herald Sun Aria semi final will again take place as part of the Royal South Street Competitions. The winner will receive a $22,000 scholarship for overseas tuition and travel. In 2014 the Herald Sun Aria celebrates 90 years of launching the international careers of many well-known singers, including: Dame Malvina Major (1964) Dame Kiri Te Kanawa 1965), Jonathon Summers (1973), Judith Henley (1976), Roger Lemke (1985), Jason Wasley (1993), and Rachelle Durkin (2000). The Sat’day Arvo Club Swinging 60s
