The funny man will perform at the Wendouree Centre for Performing Arts next weekend as part of his HOGES: One Night Only tour.
Ballarat is Hogan’s last stop on the tour and he has promised crowds they’re in for a treat.
“I’ve been saving all the best things for Ballarat,” he said.
“The sun has also been following me around, so I’ll be bringing that with me too.”
The one-man show will feature a combination of stand-up, stories and unseen clips which Hogan says have accumulated over the past 40 years.
“I’ll talk about the journey from harbour to Hollywood, with some stuff that’s been around since the 70s,” he said.
Many would remember Hogan for his hilarious antics in Crocodile Dundee and that famous phrase featured in Australian tourism advertisement “Shrimp on the Barbie”, but he hasn’t been on the regional circuit for more than 30 years.
Returning once again, he said he is excited to be back on the road.
“Someone had talked me into doing a tour in the city, we had thousands of emails from regional areas saying why are you in the city, come see us,” Hogan said.
“Country people are so often busy with their businesses or properties and local commitments that they can’t just drop it all and rush off to the city to hear some joker rabbiting on for two hours, so I thought I’d come to them.”
When The Courier asked Hogan what he loves about getting up on stage in front of sold-out crowds, he simply told us it was all for the laughs.
“I have two choices, I could sit in my lounge at home and laugh at myself or I can get up on stage,” he said.
Hogan will perform live on stage for two hours with “the hilarious truth and nothing but the truth”.
The Courier is giving away four double passes to see Paul Hogan on Sunday, August 31.
