Bridges will step-up from his assistant's role to Morgan to a co-coaching position in season 2015.

Buninyong club president Leigh Edward told The Courier that it was clearly a relationship that was working, with Morgan having "far exceeded" all key performance indicators put in front of him at the start of the year.

Edward said Bridges had put a lot of time and effort into developing the Bombers' young players.

"Jarrod said to me that he was 99 per cent, and if Jake was on board, he was 100 per cent in," Edward said.

"For the club, the package of Jake and Jarrod was sensational. For both of them, one wanted the other so it worked really well for all.

"We locked this in prior to our big finals campaign, and now we have got this locked in, the focus is on 2014. As soon as 2014 comes to an end - whenever that is - we crack into getting assistants and recruiting."

Morgan was appointed to the helm following Buninyong's 2013 grand final defeat to Hepburn, replacing long-time coach Joe Gilbert, who stepped down following eight seasons in charge.

The club expects Bridges, who has started in one senior game this season, to operate in a non-playing role, giving Morgan more freedom to focus on his own game during match day.

A dual premiership player at Redan, Bridges joined the Bombers at the start of the Central Highlands Football League season in a mentoring-type role to Morgan.

Buninyong, which lost just three games to finish the home and away rounds in fifth spot on the ladder, takes on Bungaree in a semi final on Saturday.
