SPEAKING with The Courier from a McDonald's in Needles, California, it's easy to see how quickly The Griswolds are climbing up the charts.
After spending much of 2014 making an impressive imprint on American soil, The Griswolds will return home for a national tour to highlight the release of their new album.
"Every time I've been to Ballarat it's been fun," keyboard and percussionist Lachlan West said.
"I don't think The Griswolds have played there before, we've all played there with our previous bands so it will be good to come back."
West said The Griswolds' debut album has been a while in the making and hopes Australian fans take to it as much as the US has.
"We wrote half at home in Sydney in Summer and the second half in New York in winter," he said.
"So any of the darker stuff was definitely from New York."
Their single Beware the Dog climbed to the US top 20 alternative radio charts with their video receiving 100,000 views in just a couple of weeks.
Here in Australia the song has become a Triple J staple hitting the top five in the Hype Machine global blog charts.
Looking forward to returning to Australia, the band are set to play at 10 shows around the nation and will perform at Ballarat's Karova Lounge on September 26.
"Crowds are so much better in Australia, especially Ballarat - I don't know if that's me being bias, but I've had some great shows there, they might not be the biggest but the crowd has gone bonkers," he said.
