Under-14.5

Hepburn is under-14.5 premiers for 2014, avenging last season's grand final loss to Buninyong by 37 points at Eureka Stadium on Saturday.

The young Burras lead all day, setting up victory with a dominant first half to lead by a match-winning 45 points at the long break.

The two Harrisons got the ball rolling for the Kookaburras. Harrison Nevill snagged the opening goal inside the first minute of play and when live wire Harrison Fraser showed great poise to snap truly the Burras were well on the way.

The Burra defence stood tall with Jacob Portyca Stone and Riley Gust keeping the Bombers to just one lonely first half goal. But it was skipper and league best and fairest Jordan Grant who took the game by the scruff of the neck late in the second term with a beautiful long goal on the run followed by two centre clearances from the ruck that set up goals for Kyle Yanner and brother Isaac Grant (two goals apiece) as the Burras skipped away in the shadows of half-time.

After a slow start Buninyong went toe-to-toe with the premiers after half-time. The Bombers' best footy came in the third term, holding Hepburn scoreless and adding 2.3 to give the fans some hope going into the last term. Mitch Phillips (two goals), Richy Dell, james Conlan and captain Jacob Coxall all worked hard for the runners-up.

It was to be Hepburn's day and with three last term goals the young Burras celebrated a well deserved premiership victory.

Under-17.5

Hepburn secured its second junior flag for 2014 when the under-17.5  Kookaburras came from behind to hang on by seven points over Bungaree in a thrilling grand final.

Burra co-captain Bill Johns took control booting three last term goals to almost single-handedly drag his team across the line after his team had been trailling by two just points at the last change.

Best on ground Stuart Aberdein was also in everything for the premiers, igniting his team with the first goal of the game and was a driving force through the match.

Many footballers would be happy with just one premiership to their name. Young Hepburn star Jordan Grant picked up back-to-back flags in one morning, starring in his team's under-14.5 flag and booting a goal in the under -17.5 victory. 

League goal kicking winner Jackson Carrick booted two goal of the day contenders in the dying minutes of the first half, one a beautiful banana from against the behind post to give the Burras a two-point advantage at the main change.

Bungaree got away to a terrific start. Dustin Scrutton (four goals) kicked truly in the third minute before Jack Walter, Alex Browning and Connor O'Keefe rattled on three more to have the Demons up by eight points at the first change.

Hepburn found another gear. Grant snapped truly, Bryce Coffey dobbed a long beauty and Joe Clarke's set shot from the fifty never looked like missing.

Despite controlling the third term with good ball transition from the likes of Riley Howard, Will Jury and Tom Costigan, the Demons could only manage 2.1 but had a two point buffer going into the frantic last term.

Goals to Chris Milroy and Nicholas Strachan gave Bungaree the early ascendancy until Johns bagged two in a minute and Carrick calmly slotted his third to secure more silverware for the Hepburn trophy cabinet.

Reserves

Bungaree made amends for its 2013 grand final, turning the tables on reigning premier Waubra by 48 points on Saturday. 

The Demons completed a flawless season, winning 20 games on the trot to secure the premiership.

After early inaccuracy plagued both sides, Bungaree hit the bulls eye in the third term booting four straight goals to establish a 19-point lead at the last change. When Ash McDonald booted his second early in the last term, the Demons had one hand on the premiership cup. 

Waubra's attempt at back-to-back flags faltered under wasted opportunities. The Roos never recovered from their early malaise in front of goal despite the efforts of Rohan Brown at centre half-forward, Luke Bourke through the midfield and coach Clinton Molly (two goals) around the ground.

The Demons turned it on in the second half romping away with an 11-goal second half. Josh Brown, Eamonn Stringer and Ash McDonald shared the goal scoring honours with three apiece while Matt Shortal, Jacob Trevenen booted two. 

Evergreen Lawrie Perks picked up best on ground honors in an influential four quarter performance and he was well supported by full-back Cody Kirby who held Roo spearhead Lee Brown to one goal.

Andrew Steenhius and Henri Griffiths gave the Waubra defence plenty of headaches.
