North Ballarat City will play Ballarat on Saturday at Eastern Oval.
Don Ross is arguably Ballarat’s greatest supporter.
He is an identity of the club who has spent 30 years improving and maintaining the club.
Mr Ross started as a player in 1981 and has since been a coach, team manager, junior football club secretary, football manager, team manger for the reserves and director of special events.
This weekend, Mr Ross will be decked in red and black to cheer his team to victory from the sidelines.
“It’s a big task but I reckon they’re a big chance,” Mr Ross said.
“They’ve got the skills, the drive and the talent and they have worked so hard for this moment all year.”
Mr Ross said it was the passion of the players that keeps him returning year after year.
“The young blokes they keep you young,” he said.
Ballarat Football and Netball Club president Shane Manley said North Ballarat City was a powerful team, but he believed his side had the ability and drive to win the premiership.
“There is no doubt it is going to be a tough task North Ballarat is an extremely strong team,” Mr Manely said.
“But our boys have a lot of passion and spirit and we will give it our absolute best.”
