Ballarat dancers, all with Down syndrome, will take part in the end of year e.motion21 dance spectacular, hosted by actress Lauren Potter, best known for her Glee character Becky Jackson.
The concert will feature performances from all seven e.motion21 centres in regional and metropolitan Victoria.
The program is a not-for-profit, volunteer-driven organisation that delivers a dance and fitness program designed for children and young adults with Down syndrome.
Ms Potter has Down syndrome and was appointed by US President Barack Obama to his committee for people with intellectual disabilities.
“When I was young, I dreamed of being an actress but loads of people told me I couldn’t,” Ms Potter said. “I learned to ignore those people and listen to others, like my family, who told me I could. These e.motion21 dancers are incredibly inspiring, following their passions and dreams to perform, and never giving up.”
