The festival, now in its third year, runs between October 5 and 12 with more than 40 acts across eight venues in Ballarat.

The tent will be one of the festival's premier venues, including performances of The Songs of Randy Newman, In Vogue - Songs by Madonna, Los Nachos Trios, A Singer Must Die And Other Bedtime Stories, Graduating Music Theatre Company, Avigail Herman, Spontaneous Broadway, BallaRatCat Comedy for Kids,The Story of Christine McVie, Julia Gillard - My Story, The Voice of Shirley Bassey and Random Musical for Primary School Aged Kids. 

The tent will be open daily for light meals and drinks, with Mitchell Harris Wines running a bar. 

It is the first time the Deluxe Speigeltent has made an appearance in regional Victoria. 

The staging platform is expected to be completed with the tent on Wednesday. 

The tent can be found on Armstrong Street between the Town Hall and Myer, with the road reopening to traffic on October 15. 

Parking won't be available in that section of Armstrong Street South. Parking on Doveton Street, between Sturt and Dana Streets on the Central Square side only, will be free during this time, although time limits still apply.

The taxi rank will be relocated to the Myer Sturt Street entrance, the first three parking spaces west of the bus stop. 

The word Speigeltent translates to 'Mirror Tent' from Dutch. It is a large travelling tent, hand-made from wood and canvas, and decorated with mirrors and stained glass.

The tents were originally built in Belgium in late 19th and early 20 centuries. Only a small number remain today, and are in demand around the world as feature attractions at international arts festivals.
