From the volunteers handing out the boat numbers, the people in the bag check tent, to the smiling volunteers on the pontoons helping crews launch their boats and help them get them out of the water in windy and at times cold conditions thank you so much.
A lasting memory for me will be including Roman Zacharov, 88, from Russia in a 80-year plus eight with Australians from many states and 83-year-old Hirochi Kino from Japan in the bow seat of a 75-year eight both on Sunday. The joy they got from just participating is just one example of the pleasure provided by volunteers and officials.
The volunteers did Ballarat proud. Masters from Germany, Poland and five States in Australia left Ballarat with wonderful memories.
