With back-to-back group 1 victories, Trust In Gust lines up for his fourth win in a row in the group 2 $200,000 Crystal Mile, 1600m.
Trust In A Guest does not have the greatest draw, with barrier seven in the nine-strong weight-for-age field.
This should not trouble the four-year-old though, with the natural frontrunner always finding his way up onto the pace.
The Darren Weir-trained Trust In A Gust has been a revelation this spring, joining Tasmanian frontrunner The Cleaner as a crowd favourite.
Trust In A Gust has taken his lifetime record to 10 wins in 17 starts for $1.1m in earnings.
He laid the foundation for the spring with wins in three Gold VOBIS feature races, to become a flag bearer for the industry and state government-backed scheme.
Gold VOBIS is making a special presentation to the connections of Trust In A Gust at Ballarat races on Thursday In recognition of his achievements in scheme races.
Meanwhile, Weir also has two runners in the group 2 $250,000 Moonee Valley Gold Cup, 2500m, on Saturday - Black Tycoon and Prince of Penzance.
Black Tycoon is yet to fire a shot in three starts since joining the Weir stable from Western Australia.
In his latest outing the nine-year-old did not beat home a rival in Cranbourne Cup., 2025m.
However, Black Tycoon is an out-and-out stayer, and as a winner of this year's Perth Cup qualified for the Melbourne Cup - making being right on the day the primary focus.
Black Tycoon is a big chance of getting a run in the Melbourne Cup if connections press on to that end.
He was 27th in ballot order leading into Saturday's Caulfield Cup - five outside the cut off of 22.
Since then Japanese visitor Bande and another overseas raider Dandino have been scratched
Prince of Penzance needs to produce something special to force his way into the Melbourne Cup, being on the wrong side of 60 in ballot order and still to pass the first ballot clause.
This will be Prince of Penzance's fifth start this preparation, with him looking a good thing beaten in a hard-finishing second to Count of Limonade in the Moe Cup, 2050m, on October 16.
Stewards report that he over raced in the early and middle stages.
