Blustery winds and extremely firm winds have made scoring a nightmare, with the field cut to just 45 players for the final two days of play.
Sean Roach, from Southern Golf Club, leads all-comers at the half-way point, sitting two-under par after posting consecutive rounds of 71.
Alexander Pitty is just one shot adrift after firing a one-over round of 73 on Wednesday, tied with fellow New South Welshmen Taylor Cooper.
Englishmen Gareth Davies is the only player sitting at even par, in fourth spot, while Victoria’s Eliss-Jayne Orr is the best-placed female at five-over after shooting 75.
Warm weather and constant winds are expected to make the greens gain more speed for the final two days.
