Finch has been confirmed as a starter by his home club, Geelong, for its clash in Ballarat with Frankston Peninsula.
The 27-year-old is available due to a lack of state or national commitments this weekend.
He returns to Eastern Oval after playing there for his Big Bash League side Melbourne Renegades during their pre-season camp in December last year.
Finch has not played for Geelong since last season, but made centuries in both appearances for the club in 2013-14.
He hit 111 against Melbourne and 100 against Hawthorn-Monash University in two-day clashes.
Geelong chairman of selectors Kent Hannam told The Courier Finch always made himself available for the club when possible.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for his teammates to play with the Australian Twenty20 captain again and for the Ballarat pubic to come out and see the Australia captain play at Eastern Oval,” he said.
Finch returned from Australia’s tour against Pakistan with two one-day appearances for Victoria, including most recently alongside teammates Jon Holland and Scott Boland, who are among those who will line up for Frankston Peninsula on Saturday.
Holland, a left-arm orthodox spinner, is fresh from a three-wicket haul in the Bushrangers’ loss to Western Australia on Sunday, while Boland, a fast bowler, took 1-33 in that clash.
Boland will captain the club for the first time on Saturday.
The game is a vitally important one for both sides, which have won just one match each in 2014-15.
Frankston Peninsula is 12th on the VPC firsts ladder, while Geelong sits 15th.
Saturday will see all 18 teams play outside of Melbourne, with other clashes to be held at Maryborough, Benalla, Warrion, Wangaratta, Bendigo, Swan Hill, Port Fairy and Morwell.
