Designers from around the nation will descend on Ballarat for the Little Sparrow Market, set to open at the Ballaarat Mechanics’ Institute on November 21 to 22.
Market organiser Riya Deniau said the idea behind the market was to showcase Australian designers, makers and artists, while providing market patrons with a unique retail platform in Ballarat.
“We have designers from as far as Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra and Queensland,” she said.
“Each market will have an uniquely curated line-up of emerging designers, established designers, vintage stalls and a wonderful selection of food and beverages. There is nothing like this in Ballarat, as far as work from designers all around Australia goes and there is a market here in Ballarat for it.”
Ms Deniau said people were becoming more aware of the need to support Australian designers and wanted to support them.
“If you enjoy homemade products, you will enjoy this.”
Stall holders over the two-day weekend include Rondelle Douglas Illustrations, BokBokBgerk, Rock my Col and Sweet Things by Caroline.
The Little Sparrow Market will also be in Federation Square this Sunday.
