The man accused of raping and murdering pastry chef Renea Lau in Melbourne's Kings Domain needs to be reinterviewed by a psychiatrist before he next appears in court.

Scott Allen Miller, 42, was charged with two counts of rape and one of murder over the death of Ms Lau, whose body was found just metres from busy St Kilda Road in the early hours of June 28.
Police previously alleged Ms Lau was walking to her job at the upmarket Ganache Chocolate dessert shop in South Yarra when she was chased into the gardens and killed.
Mr Miller was arrested in the coastal town of Eden after a nationwide manhunt. It was the first time the itinerant didgeridoo maker had been in custody.
His lawyer, Legal Aid senior lawyer Sarah Pratt, did not make an application for bail during a brief appearance in the Melbourne Magistrates Court via videolink on Friday.
Ms Pratt told the court that a psychiatrist who assessed Mr Miller shortly after his arrest had indicated there was "some material" he wished to reinterview him over before making a report to the court.
At a previous hearing Ms Pratt had told the court her client suffered a previous drug induced psychosis.
Mr Miller was remanded in custody to face court again on November 14.
