Golden Point second innings resumed 0-3
Brown Hill's tilt at an outright came up short on a day dominated by the ball at the Western Oval.
Golden Point crumbled with the bat for the second time in the match, with veteran Damian Klein's 22 runs and Dan White's 22 at the end of the innings the highest scores.
Brown Hill looked within comfortable reach of maximum points when Point staggered to 6-70 in its second innings - a lead of only 56.
It was only resistance by Klein and White that kept the Bulls at bay long enough.
Shane Harwood was almost a match winner with 4-25 off 14.4 overs.
Jason Knowles also chimed in with 2-9 off six overs.
Golden Point opening bowler Andrew Warrick then stepped up to thwart Brown Hill's charge.
With quick runs needed, Warrick stifled the Bulls with 5-15 off 12 overs - giving him eight for the match and 12 in the opening two rounds of the season.
WENDOUREE 8-367 d BALLARAT-REDAN 253

Anthony Taylor, 69, and Allister Edmonds, 49, made an outstanding start.
They put on 122 in even time for the opening stand.
Bobby Hind kept the dream alive with a sprightly 26, including five boundaries.
It proved too difficult to maintain the required momentum though as wickets began to steadily fall once the two swords passed 150.
Youngster Tom Le Lievre, who is in first season out of under-16 ranks and debut season in the first eleven, took 4-48, including the prize scalp of Taylor before helping clean up the tail.
Austen Prendergast and Sam Peeters each picked up two wickets.

When Sandwith was out, Mt Clear needed just another 18 runs to pass North.
Nathan Yates them made 29 to put the match away.
Jason Crosbie took 2-28 and Jakob Tidyman 2-35.
NAPOLEONS-SEBASTOPOL 8-247 d DARLEY 133
