Eureka Stadium will host the clash between the two sides on March 14, in what will be the third time a NAB Cup/NAB Challenge match has come to the city.
NAB Challenge football returned to Ballarat this year when North Melbourne and Carlton clashed.
The city missed out on hosting a an official pre-season game in 2013 under the old knockout format, having hosted its first NAB Cup match in 2012 between Western Bulldogs and North Melbourne.
Interestingly, it will be the first pre-season match in Ballarat that will not feature North Melbourne since 2010.
The Kangaroos will instead play in Port Lincoln, Shepparton and at Etihad Stadium.
The match will fall in the third week of the NAB Challenge competition, with both sides to be playing their second match of the competition.
