The Golden City Paddlesteamer Museum Society is looking for a skipper to add to its team as the paddlesteamer's first anniversary rolls around.
November 7 will mark the one-year anniversary since the paddlesteamer was first launched on Lake Wendouree.
Golden City Paddlesteamer Museum Society president Daryl Smith said the society hoped to get the paddlesteamer out on the water within in the next couple of weeks.
"And we're hoping to run every Sunday," he said.
But Mr Smith said a second skipper would allow an opportunity for the society to get the boat out more often.
"The frequency we can get out depends on the availability of the skipper."
The paddle steamer first returned to Lake Wendouree last year after more than 20 volunteers spent seven years recreating the traditional-style steamer which was destroyed by fire in 2006.
Mr Smith said the anniversary was a chance for Ballarat residents to relive the paddlesteamer's history.
