Black Hill pool will stay shut despite a plan to reopen it.
The council voted the pool should close in August to save $500,000 over the next five years.
Councillor Peter Innes said the council would continue to work with residents fighting the Black Hill decision.
“Since (the decision) there’s been a number of groups that have come to council,” he said.
“We’re looking at how to best utilise that space, whether it’s a pool or something else. What’s important is that we’re working together.”
Cr Innes was on hand to open the season at Eureka Pool on Friday.
“The whole precinct looks fantastic,” he said.
“People could have a look at (the Museum of Australian Democracy at Eureka) and have a swim. It’s all welcoming to families.”
Eureka Pool will open on Saturday, Midlands Water Play centre on Sunday, and the Buninyong Pool and Brown Hill Pool will open on November 30 and December 6 respectively.
Eureka and Brown Hill pools have had work done over the winter, with new barbecue facilities, shaded areas and seating.
