Pleasant Street Primary School will hold its annual Christmas Fest markets on December 5.
Festival co-ordinator Jodie Crellin said it was the fourth year the event had been held in the form of Christmas Fest, previously the school’s part of the monthly markets.
“We’ve got stallholders coming from Melbourne and Geelong. One is driving five hours to be here,” she said.
Ms Crellin said there would be more than 120 stores, with food, wine, gifts, plants and jewellery.
She said there would also be lots of activities for children, including pony rides for the first year and a Santa Land.
The school received a City of Ballarat community impact grant to help run the event.
Ms Crellin said the grant helped with the overall running of the event.
“There’s such a great community spirit on the night – it’s so rewarding to see everyone having fun and getting into the Christmas spirit.”
School principal Karen Biggelaar said the school fund-raiser had previously helped to pay for the school’s oval redevelopment, musical instruments and general landscaping.
She said the next project on the school’s agenda was redeveloping the library, possibly using some of the funds raised by the Christmas Fest markets.
