The Lions have secured their marquee player just in time for their Cup opener against Ballan on Sunday night.
Lions’ captain Matt Cape said it was great to have a player of Green’s calibre in his line-up.
Green has played about 60 games in Victorian Premier Cricket firsts.
Mount Clear and East Ballarat have also made late signings for this weekend’s Cup launch.
The Mounties have named top order bat Conrad Louth, on loan from Geelong club Grovedale.
Louth hails from Lincolnshire Premier League club Bourne.
Geelong premier cricketer and former Australian under-19 representative Meyrick Buchanan will play with East Ballarat.
The Hawks have a tough assignment in Wendouree first up – the Red Caps have a headline act in West Indian all-rounder Lorenzo Ingram, who once featured in a Jamaican team against Australia.
Other marquee players on show include Nepal national player and Greenvale Kangaroo Sunam Gautam, who returns to Golden Point, and Welshman Gareth Davies, who is a clubmate of Ingram at Plenty Valley, for North Ballarat.
