The Pleasant Street Primary School pair have both been selected to represent Victoria in the School Sport Australia Track and Field Championships, to be held in Tasmania later this week.
They will both compete in shot put as part of the Athletes With a Disability section.
Both girls have varying degrees of Cerebral Palsy but have not let it get in the road of competing on the national stage.
For grade 6 pupil Maddie, it will be her second time competing at the national level, while Danielle, grade 4, will be making her debut.
Both started competing in the sport after being introduced by physical education teacher Jessica Nicolin.
From that point onwards, their rise through the ranks has known no limits.
The school also held a fundraiser to help send both athletes to Penguin, Tasmania.
“The school has been an amazing support through encouraging their sport and assisting in fundraising for them to join the team,” said Danielle’s father, Matthew Clark.
The four-day carnival has its opening ceremony on Friday and concludes on Monday.
