The Leading Senior Constable, from the Southern Metro Region, has been charged with one count of unlawful assault, police said on Tuesday.
He has been suspended with pay pending his court appearance.
The assault allegedly occurred in the seaside town of Rosebud on the Mornington Peninsula in April this year.
The officer is due to face Frankston Magistrates Court on February 11 next year.
