Ballarat Bowling Club has offered the business its Havelock Street premises in Soldiers Hill to use as a temporary base.
The gesture comes after the Victoria Street restaurant was destroyed in a fire on November 10.
The revamped Zaragosa on the Green is expected to open at the lawn bowling club, near the Eastern Oval, in early December.
Owner Scott Anstis said he was keen to get started.
“We are playing it by ear, but it’s all very promising at the moment,” he said.
“Without their (bowling club) help, we would not be cooking, we would be closed.”
Zaragosa on the Green will seat about 60 people for dinner in the main dining room.
Mr Anstis said the club’s smaller kitchen prevented them from serving their regular menu.
“The menu we had was pretty extensive,” he said. “We will have under half (the menu items). This will allow us to play around with some recipes.”
Club secretary John Crawford said the restaurant would not interfere with the running of the club.
“The members are very supportive,” he said.
“We have about 100 members and we play every Saturday and Sunday.”
Zaragosa has been a sponsor of the bowling club for two years.
Mr Anstis thanked the Ballarat community for its support.
He said it was unlikely the damaged Victoria Street building would be repaired in 12 months.
“We are unsure whether we will get back into the building again.”
