A Toorak woman who was punched in the face in an unprovoked attack in Melbourne's CBD has used social media to help catch the man who allegedly bashed her.

Erica Moloney, 32, was knocked to the ground after being struck in the face as she walked out of a gym on Flinders Lane about 8pm on Wednesday night.
But when a witness told her the man was still in the area, she jumped to her feet and chased him so she could take his photo.
"I thought how dare you make me feel this helpless," Ms Moloney said. "So I went after him and I confronted him and demanded to know why he hit me. His response was 'do you want a fresh one you stupid bitch?' I told him he was stupid because I had his photo and had called the cops."
Ms Moloney, a social media account director, immediately posted the image of the man on Facebook alongside a bloodied picture of her face.
"I wanted Facebook to see in full colour the disgusting impact of violence against women," she wrote. "If you see this (blurry) monster keep a safe distance and maybe call the cops."
Ms Moloney's friend, who had come to her aid after seeing the post, recognised the alleged attacker outside the hotel foyer where she was giving her statement to police.
"My friend was sitting there for moral support and as I was talking to the police he noticed someone who looked familiar. He said 'that's not the guy is it?' I turned to look and knew it was him."
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said a 33-year-old Queensland man had been arrested in relation to two alleged attacks on Flinders Lane on Wednesday night. She said a 43-year-old man was also treated by paramedics.
Joe Fowden has been charged with two counts of intentionally causing serious injury, two counts of recklessly causing serious injury, two counts of unlawful assault and one count of being drunk in public.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on December 15.
