The veteran capped off a huge couple of seasons on the greens by playing his 400th career pennant match in early October.
However, Dunn’s contributions during his 24-year stint at Learmonth can’t be measured by any amount of games played.
Learmonth president Brian Ryan has labelled the 75-year-old as a “real stalwart around the club”.
“He means a lot to all of us at Learmonth,” Ryan said.
“He’s been a great worker. There are people who just come to play bowls, but Bill has been one of those people who have given so much back to us.
“You name it and Bill has done it.”
Dunn first took up bowls at Learmonth in 1990 after being talked into the sport by a few close friends.
Since then he has been involved in just about every managerial position Learmonth has to offer.
Currently Learmonth’s director of greens, Dunn was president from 2011-12, as well as junior vice-president from 2009-10, senior vice president from 2010-11 and has also spent time on numerous general, selection, greens, and building committees.
More importantly, he has lent a hand in almost every one of Learmonth’s working bees in the past 23 years.
“It’s been a big part of my life,” Dunn said. “It’s not hard to get involved in helping out around the club, and I like doing it.
“I’m not a top-level bowler, I’m just a team manager and skipper in division seven.
“We’re sitting second at the moment, so we’re a fair chance to make the finals.”
Dunn was recognised for his services when he was awarded a life membership to Learmonth at the end of last season.
