The effigy of ASIO director general Major General Duncan Lewis is almost complete and will burn on December 3.
Reclaim the Radical Tradition of Eureka Rebellion program is organised by anarchist Joe Toscano who is also a broadcaster on 3CR radio in Melbourne.
The creator of the effigy, Graeme Dunston, said many people had been listed as possible targets for the effigy, however Major General Lewis was the most popular.
“Each year as Eureka season approaches, a conversation takes place amongst Eureka lovers asking: who is this season’s most notable oppressor of our rights and liberties?” he said.
The burning of an effigy as part of the event has occurred for the past five years.
