Golden Point is Ballarat Cricket Association's new Twenty20 Cup champion.
The Pointies passed district club Ballan's 120 runs three wickets in hand with 10 balls remaining in the final at Brown Hill on Sunday afternoon.
Both finalists earn a spot in the Central Highlands Region Cricket Willow Cup on Australia Day.
It was a tense finish for Point, which lost a flurry of wickets when nearing its target including seventh wicket Brad Lockyer with just three runs short of victory.
Ballan was vocal and upbeat in the field.
This is Point's first Twenty20 Cup title.
Ballan was the only BCA district team to reach the Twenty20 Cup semi-finals.
EARLIER...
It's district team Ballan up against club upstart Golden Point for Ballarat Cricket Association's Twenty20 Cup this Sunday afternoon.
In a bumper semi-final morning, Ballan and the Pointies each overcame undefeated rivals to push their way into the match at Brown Hill, which is set to start 2.30pm.
Ballan staked its spot first after a 50-run victory against Ballarat-Redan on the Combine's Alfredton 1 ground.
All-rounder Zac Graham shone under siege from Combine bowlers, chalking up 59 runs off 45 balls and creating the bulk of Ballan's 105-run tally. Combine bowling duo Simon Allan 3-10 and Chris Egan 2-19 led their team attack.
But Ballan's bowlers were better. Ryan Aquilina (4-5), Michael Snaith (4-10) and Noel Heafield (2-10) had the Combine back in the pavilion and licking wounds inside 13 overs with just 45 runs on the board.
Ballan was the sole district team to reach the semi-finals in the Twenty20 Cup.
Over at Brown Hill, Point fended off Mount Clear.
Point posted 4-155 off its 20 overs. Simon Ogilvie made 42 runs, David Whapplington 29 and skipper Josh White was unbeaten on 29. The Mounties score is unconfirmed.
In an interesting side note, Point upset the Mounties in the BCA first this round in a two-day game that finished on Saturday.
