The reigning Geelong and District Football League best and fairest winner has been touted as one of the Devils' big recruits for next year, but might not be released to play at Darley Park.
Challis is still under contract with East Geelong, with the club potentially blocking his move to the Devils.
Darley will meet with
East Geelong on Mon-
day night to try and get Challis across, although East Geelong coach Ricky O’Toole has stated he wants his key player to fulfil his contract.
Devils coach Jarrod Edwards said he was hopeful of a positive outcome at the meeting, as 24-year-old Challis had shown promise at Darley training.
