Set to play in division three of the Victorian Women’s Football League for the first time next season, the Dragons need a new coach to ensure they remain competitive among tougher competition in season 2015.
Having finished runner-up last season in division four, Golden Point will play in the higher-standard league next year.
The only catch is they are still without a coach.
This year’s coach, Darren Wright, has vacated the role due to family commitments, leaving the door open for somebody else to take the reins.
Golden Point president Tegan Cross said there would be a big step up in standard this year and a coach was a must in order to succeed.
“It’s definitely going to be a higher level of competition; it will be a big step up,” Cross said.
“If we don’t have a coach, we don’t have a team. The girls came such a long way last year, especially since most of them hadn’t even played before.
“There is really strong commitment from all of them.”
Cross said an ideal coach would be able to teach both the begin-
ners as well as develop the more experienced athletes.
