Brisbane's budding filmmakers and cinephiles could get the inside scoop on the upcoming third series of Twin Peaks, with visionary creator David Lynch confirmed to make his first trip to Australia next March.

The rule-breaking director of the haunting 1990-91 series, as well as mind-bending dramas like Eraserhead and Blue Velvet, will appear live in conversation at QPAC on Sunday March 14.
QAGOMA accessed the state government's Super Star Fund to bring the major exhibition David Lynch: Between Two Worlds to the gallery and performing arts centre and QPAC in 2015.
Arts Minister Ian Walker said Lynch was a world-class talent.
"David Lynch: In Conversation is another great example of the Super Star Fund growing cultural tourism and bringing the best of the arts to our state," he said.
QAGOMA director Chris Saines said Lynch would share details not just about his body of film and television work, but his other passions including painting, music, visual arts and meditation.
"In addition to David Lynch: In Conversation the GOMA exhibition program will include a ticketed masterclass, special music events and evening openings later in the season," Mr Saines said.
QPAC chief executive John Kotzas said it would be an exciting exclusive encounter.
"We're looking forward to collaborating with QAGOMA in creating an event where audiences from around our country get a chance to hear from him," Mr Kotzas said.
The timing couldn't be more appropriate to have Lynch in town – as 2015 marks 25 years since Twin Peaks began on US television.
The series began as a murder mystery in a small town, but quickly spiralled to involve the bizarre, surreal and supernatural.
In October, Lynch and co-creator Mark Frost announced a limited nine-episode third season would shoot in 2015, to air on American cable channel Showtime in early 2016.
The gap between the end of the series and the 1992 telemovie Fire Walk With Me is set to be a major plot point in the story, which famously began with the discovery of prom queen Laura Palmer's body wrapped in plastic.
