The Redan wholesale butcher is, for the first time, stocking Country Style Small Goods ham this year. 

Manager Colin Bilney said he was proud to stock a variety of products in the lead-up to Christmas. 

“We do a full range of Christmas hams, right through to the budget product and a European-style product,” he said. 

“We sell hams that range in price from $10 to $120.”

KR Castlemaine, Don Small Goods, Bertocchi and Country Style Small Goods are available at the butcher. 

He said the Country Style Small Goods hams had been Beechwood smoked. 

“They have been very, very popular,” he said.

Mr Bilney said there were benefits to buying commercial as opposed to boutique hams. 

“Usually we use the commercial style products for consistency,” he said. 

“Customers know what they will be getting.”

Mr Bilney said boutique hams varied in taste. 

The butcher has taken some pre-Christmas ham orders, but has prepared for the last-minute rush.

“We have prepared extra knowing there will be a lot of casual Christmas ham purchases,” he said. 

“Right now we are seeing the Christmas rush.”
