“They’ll be working tonight, but we’ve given them the day off today and tomorrow,” said Mrs Claus.
“They’ve got half the globe to cover, you know.”
Banjo, not yet two years old, even got to sit on Comet’s back while Mrs Claus made sure the reindeer stayed firmly on the ground.
Banjo’s grandmother, Rhonda Southwell, had to convince him to get a bit a closer but in the end he was perfectly happy once he realised the reindeer would know where Santa lived.
Reindeer Comet and Cupid relaxed over the weekend at the Creswick Woollen Mill, showing children how the toys get around the world.
The 18-month old reindeer were also a curiosity for the regular residents of the mill, with the goats and a llama keen for a peek at their taller and more famous cousins.
There was a quick conversation between Cupid and one of the mill’s well-known goats, with the goat making sure Cupid would come back with presents on Christmas Eve.
“We don’t want any more woolly jumpers,” The Courier is sure the goat said.
