Weatherzone meteorologist James Casey said the forecast was now looking good.
“There’s a bit of cloud building in the evening, but nothing that’s going to ruin the day,” he said.
“There is also a chance it could be warmer (again).”
The Bureau of Meteorology said there was a 20 per cent chance of rain in the evening as everyone recovered from the day’s feast, but the real risk of rain was the following day.
The cold front that had been slated for Thursday will appear on Boxing Day, which has a top of 19 and a chance of showers in the morning.
The first session of the Boxing Day Test is to begin at 10.30am, so hopefully the rain has passed by then for anyone heading down to Melbourne for the cricket.
Those travelling to Melbourne or south to the coast for Christmas will find similar temperatures to Ballarat.
